Social Networking!!!

Yeah right...I am talking about orkutting, facebooking, twittering...!! I am having all the three accounts. These are very good sites to connect with old lost friends and acquaintances and get updated about them and also let them know what you have been upto. I got many of my old school friends with whom I had lost contact on Orkut in which I had joined my school community. It was overwhelming to know about them after many years and I was so thankful to Orkut :). Then I opened my account in Facebook thanks to the numerous invitations I had got in my email out of which half were sent 'by default' by Facebook as they were from the 'friends' who had my email id but never were in touch! It was little difficult to get accustomed with Facebook initially but in sometime I got the hang of it. I increased my friends list very slowly as I didnt want many people. I keep getting friends request from people whom I dont even know and have one or two common friends. I dont understand why people want to increase their friends list. I like quality and not quantity. Now one more thing I have noticed is 'online PDA'. I am not against it nor its a big deal but its something that has been introduced by these sites. Hubby giving compliments to wify and vice versa; wife complaining about hubby's behavior.... In short the conversation which should happen in person happens online! and is open to people to read!!! funny right :P..!!! Its good entertainment though! 
There was news about privacy threat on Facebook. Hope FB is fixing the issue to avoid further annoyance. There were some advertisements for people to not upload personal information and photographs on FB. The craze of FB is so much that in a survey they said that first thing in morning people do is ceck their FB account!!
Talking about Twitter which has created its own space in the internet. With so many celebrities getting connected with common people, sharing their thoughts,plans, daily routine,pics and what not! The media is no longer required in between as all the news about these celebrities come directly from them!! As they create news from the tweets posted by celebrities.
So many new words are getting added to English vocab...thanks to these social networking sites.
These sites nevertheless are good place for re-connecting with friends but they will never beat the real time meeting and hanging out with the real friends :)
