Happiness

The word itself makes one cheerful.. but what is the real definition of 'happiness'?? For each person the its different... For a child its when he/she gets favorite toy and when its playtime or anything that is amusing...hence they have wide range of happiness. As we grow this range narrows down gradually.. For many people the feeling of happiness is materialistic. And according to me this materialistic happiness is short lived. The other day I got some shopping done and I was very happy with what I had bought for myself and after 2-3 days the stuff had taken its position in my wardrobe and I never bothered to look at it.
The real happiness comes from within. Now I know how to get 'real' happiness..Its when I do something special to someone else. It may not be special to the other person and can be as simple as helping an elderly person cross a road, or give a very nice gift which the other person loves. There are small day to day things which we do and unknowingly become happy; I am now content and don't feel the need of buying expensive stuff just to make me feel happy. But yeah shopping once a while is kinda stress buster...what say ;)

Survival

Life is not an easy path, not a bed of roses.... We start to struggle right from the time we are born in this world. My opening line would have made you wonder that I have read/heard this somewhere. You are right this statement is not aboriginal. Every living being on this planet earth has to struggle in order to survive, now you may remember the phrase of Sir Darwin "Survival of the fittest".
I have witnessed drastic weather change around. The fall showed colors of leaves changing from green to red, orange, pink.. simply awesome.... Then slowly the bizarre winds started and the leaves parted from trees and as the winter approached, the beautiful trees were merely left as skeleton of trunks and branches, they seemed lifeless, seemed as if they would never be able to be flourish and I felt pity on them. They had to withstand the most harsh winter, the snow, the blizzard!
And then as winter faded away I was so happy to see the buds coming out on the very dry and presumed dead branches, it made me realize the power of mother nature and the amazing creation of GOD which in our daily life we never give a thought on. Slowly all trees were blossomed, they looked so rich and I silently praised them for braving the changes around. This taught me how ignorant I have been and also made me realize that just because the environment is not favorable, one should not give up and forget what one is capable of doing. No matter how hostile the conditions be one must be ready to brave them.
Next time you say you have problem and you cant get out of it just think that you are one of the most intelligent specie on the earth and sooner or later you would get the solution.
